The Association of Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) sent an open letter to top state officials on Friday, demanding that they raise the question of abducted and murdered Serbs before all international institutions and in contacts with international officials.

In the letter addressed to Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, the association stressed that the families have been waiting for 17 years to hear the truth, demanding freedom for the abducted KiM Serbs and punishment for their murderers.

“The victims’ families wonder if the officials of this government will act in the same way as their predecessors regarding the issue of kidnapped KiM Serbs,” the letter reads.

The association asks Nikolic if his (announced) platform for KiM includes a request to release the kidnapped Serbs and to bring the perpetrators of the crimes against Serbs to justice. The question for Vucic is if he intends to make such a demand in Brussels, and for Dacic, if he plans to raise this issue as the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
