Around 400,000 unresolved cases in Kosovo courts

(RTK1)

Non-functioning of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) has made 40 judges to still wait for their appointment by the President.

There are around 400,000 unresolved cases throughout Kosovo, 60 to 70 per cent of them are minor offence cases and enforcement documents.

Enver Peci, chairperson of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), said that they have already drafted their strategy for solution of this issue.

Low number of judges has made that these cases to remain in drawers; however, according to the KJC chairperson, this is expected to be solved when the 40 new judges will be appointed.

On the other hand, Petrit Kryeziu of the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, which deals with monitoring of courts’ work, says that they have recommended solution for these cases.

KLA graffiti inscribed at the gate of Orthodox Theological Seminary in Prizren

(RTK2)

Graffiti with KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) inscription was noted on Sunday morning at the main gate of Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Theological Seminary in Prizren, monk Andrej confirmed to RTK2.

The press release issued in relation to this case by the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Raska-Prizren reads that this is yet another provocation of threatening graffiti in buildings of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo, following the graffiti in Deçan/Decane, Lipjan/Lipljane and Gjakovë/Djakovica.

“Most probably this is an immature provocation of individuals who want to ruin human relations. After this most recent incident, the Theological Seminary will demand increased security measures and investigation into this case,” the release underlines.

Prizren regional police did not report anything about this case.
