Çollaku: No visa liberalization this year

(Most monitored broadcasters, Klan Kosova)

Report on European integrations brought Kosovo minister of European integration Bekim Çollaku to the Assembly of Kosovo. He did not give the best news to the respective Assembly committee, saying that there will not be visa liberalization this year.

Çollaku said that he would be very happy if visas are removed to Kosovo in 2016, no matter the conditions that will be applied behind them.

Minister Çollaku said that illegal migrations of Kosovo citizens have contributed to this situation.

Vetëvendosje MP Ilir Deda said that 113,000 citizens have left Kosovo only at the Merdar border crossing.

However, minister Çollaku disagreed with these statistics, saying that they were inflated.

Roma MP Fitim Baxhaku said that it would be a big mistake if Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian community members are returned to Kosovo, since, according to him, they have sold their houses.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) youth handed over Kosovo flag and Constitution to Gracanica/Graçanicë officials.

According to the PDK activist Fidan Ismajli, the same present was handed over to all Kosovo municipalities.

“Our aim is to also hand over the Kosovo flag and Constitution to you, in order for them to be respected. Our aim is not to incite disruption of interethnic relations, but to see Independence Day celebration in Gracanica/Graçanicë, same as in Prishtinë/Pristina and all other municipalities of Kosovo,” Ismajli said.

Gracanica/Graçanicë Mayor Vladeta Kostic considers the action of PDK youth unnecessary. He said that the municipality is very well aware of constitutional and legal frameworks.

On the other hand, Prishtinë/Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti said that this action of PDK was not dignified at all, Klan Kosova reported.

Ahmeti said that Vladeta Kostic’s comparison with him was shameful.

Justice agreement discriminates minorities

Only Serbs and Albanians will work at the court’s building in the Kosovo north. This agreement was reached in Brussels between the Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic.

However, a prosecutor, who claims to belong to Torbesh community, feels discriminated by this agreement.

“If we do not pay respect to equality in any form, there is discrimination,” prosecutor Idain Smaili said.

According to Smaili, the right to run for the post of judge or prosecutor should only depend on professional criteria, and not on ethnic grounds.

The Ombudsperson Sami Kurteshi also announced actions in case that these posts will belong only to Albanians and Serbs. He is still waiting for the official document of the agreement.

Furthermore, he considers it as a constitutional violation in case posts for judges and prosecutors are divided only between Albanians and Serbs.
