Jablanovic: Without pressure on Pristina no A/CSM (Tanjug)

Without pressure from the international community on official Pristina it is hard to expect the start of creation of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities (A/CSM), stated today the head of the steering committee for creation of the C/ASM and Mayor of Leposavić/Leposaviq Dragan Jablanovic.

“It is obvious that in current situation it is impossible, it all depends on them (international community). From the very beginning I was of opinion that we should go on with the creation of the A/CSM since we’ve developed a statute of the A/CSM with consideration of all European documents, and it is in line with the European standards,” explained Jablanovic, and assessed that Serbs will be blackmailed in the end when it comes to creation of the A/CSM with creation of army of Kosovo or some other issue.

Similar stand point is shared by the executive director of the Bureau for Social Investigation (BIRODI) Pavle Dimitrijevic, who also expressed doubts that the issue of A/CSM would be actualized without the pressure form the international community.

Dimitrijevic reminded that despite the previous announcements of the Serbian side that A/CSM will be the core topic during the last round of negotiations in Brussels it didn’t happen and there is no indication when will the next round take place and whether A/CSM will be the topic at all.
“Pristina officials say that this issue will be discussed later. I personally doubt that this topic can be actualized and concretized without a pressure from the international community. Whereas, it seems to me that opening of this topic is in no one’s interest,” Dimitrijevic argues.

According to a coalition agreement reached between the Serbian List and the Kosovo ruling parties (Democratic Party of Kosovo – PDK and Democratic League of Kosovo – LDK), following the creation of the Kosovo government in December, the A/CSM is supposed to be created in three to five months. This point is one of the key points of the coalition agreement.

The director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, stated earlier that creation of the A/CSM is the key point of the Serbian political struggle in Kosovo and Metohija.
