The technical working group of Serbia and Albania today will review two projects of regional importance – construction of a railroad and a highway, which are due to be presented by the prime ministers during May in the European Commission, said the Deputy Prime Minister in the Serbian Government and Minister for Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic. Two projects amount to EUR 2 billion.

Ahead of the meeting, Mihajlovic stressed that talks will focus on construction of the highway Niš-Pristina-Tirana, and reconstruction and construction of an additional section of the railroad Belgrade-Bar which will most probably expand to Albania and its ports. “Already today we’ll have provisional agreements about those two projects, and in ten days well meet in Tirana again,” said Mihajlovic.

Creation of the working group followed the last August presentation of projects of regional importance in Berlin, and agreement of the prime ministers of Serbia and Albania, Aleksandar Vucic and Edi Rama, respectively.
