Around 50 Serbian police officers suspended in northern Kosovo (Blic)

Around 50 Serbian police officers in northern Kosovo have been suspended due to their rejection to closely cooperate with prosecution and officials dealing with investigations on involvement of Serbs in alleged crimes committed in northern Kosovo, carried Kosovo Police.

Information leaking with regard to murder of the police officer Enver Zumberi in 2010 in Zubin Potok was quoted by Kosovo Police as a justification for suspension for Serb police officers.

In Kosovo Police said that KP director Shpend Magjuni and EULEX representatives will meet representatives of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs today in Belgrade aiming at improving cooperation between police.

This meeting comes couple days after Magjuni brought decision to depose commanders of police stations in northern Kosovo.
