Lawyer Nebojsa Vlajic voiced expectation that trial to the leader of the Civic Initiative SDP Olvier Ivanovic, which is ongoing in North Mitrovica, will be over until the end of the year, at latest.
“Hearing of witnesses of the prosecution for the case from 1999 is nearing to completion and I believe that it will be over until the end of March. After this, witnesses for the case of 2000 will follow, an after all the time will come for our witnesses of defense, thus I hope that the trial could be over until the end of the year,” said Vlajic in, Ivanovi’c lawyer, a TV show ‘Slobodno Srpski’.
Vlajic further said that Ivanovic , like most of Kosovo Serbs, was engaged in either military or police mandatory service, however in late 1998 he was appointed at the post of the financial director of the company ‘Feronikl’l after what he was released from the mandatory service and did not take part in any clashes.
Olvier Ivanovic is accused for committing war crimes in Kosovo in 1999 and 2000.
