The leader of the Social Democratic Party and former President of Serbia Boris Tadic said that the Brussels dialogue prevented frozen conflict between Belgrade and Pristina, pointing out that the most important thing for Serbs is institutional protection. “There is no survival without institutions. People might be physically present, but not under their own name and not in the full capacity – as a part of an institutional system. The institutions are key,” said the leader of the SDS.
Tadic said he was not satisfied by the Brussels dialogue, but that Serbia had to find a peaceful solution. “I supported the dialogue because I was convinced that government cannot manage it longer, in that way. Still, it’s better than a frozen conflict, because frozen conflict would lead us to conflict situations and sooner or later the new victims and new problems.”
Former Serbian President sees no reason for the formation of the Kosovo army because Serbia does not threaten Kosovo. “I believe that every institution including Kosovo institution must have certain security forces and it is quite normal, but I see no reason that the security project becomes an Army of Kosovo,” Tadic said.
