Minister of Justice Hajredin Kuci announced that vacancy announcement for judges and prosecutors in northern Kosovo will be published on Wednesday, 25 March.

Kuci said that vacancy won’t refer to Albanian judges because those who already work there will be transferred as agreed in Brussels. “Judicial Council and Prosecutors’ Council will decide about other aspects, such as how long the vacancy will last and how many posts will be available,” said Kuci. Prisitna-based daily Koha reports that process of selection and verification of judges and prosecutors will be run by EULEX instead of Pristina authorities.

Agreement on judiciary was reached in February in Brussels between Belgrade and Pristina, and provides participation of Serbian judges and prosecutors in Kosovo judiciary in northern Kosovo.
