Kosovo Prime Minister Isa. Mustafa confirmed the statement of Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic made few days earlier that Kosovo Armed Forces (KAF) will not go to north Kosovo.

According to PM Mustafa this is an agreement between Kosovo Government and NATO, which must be respected. Mustafa made these statements in a press conference, held after Government’s meeting, where he spoke about the first 100 days of Kosovo Government.

He also explained that they are talking with communities, in order to ensure the necessary votes for establishment of the KAF as constitutional amendments require 2/3 of the votes of parliamentary majority and those of communities.

Mustafa emphasized that the establishment of KAF and Special Court will be two separate process and will not be submitted at the Assembly as one package as opposition suspects.

Following the approval of the draft-report on the hundred days of work of the new government, the PM acknowledged that he started the work in an unpleasant momentum, characterized by strikes and protests.

However, Mustafa emphasized that during the 100 days of his governance he achieved to establish a good government, efficient and responsible. He expressed convinced that he achieved to increase the trust of citizens to the institutions.

KACA unveils 2014 Anti-Corruption Report

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency (KACA) says that they have prevented the misuse of millions of Euros of Kosovo budget. However, this Agency is not optimistic with the work of justice institutions.

Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency chairman Hasan Pretenti expressed surprised with the fact that no state official is sentenced in prison for corruption, except the former Special Prosecutor with the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo Nazmi Mustafi.

Some of the criminal offences identified by the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency are different abuse of official position, exercising of influence, embezzlement in duty, bribery and non-declaration of assets.

During 2014, based on the investigations of the Anti-Corruption Agency, 131 charges have been filed against 163 individuals. In total during 2014, the Agency has treated 304 cases.

“Over 99 per cent of cases treated for abuse of official position are related to the procurement. This sector lacks in all aspects, starting from the preparation of the material, publication, evaluation and conflict of interests of the committees that evaluate the bids, reaching of contracts and implementation. In all procurement phases we have identified violations of law’, Preteni said.

Moreover, Preteni said that amongst the investigated cases by KACCA are prosecutors, governmental officials, members of different independent agencies and other representatives.

According to Preteni, during 2014 judges and prosecutors have not dealt at all with the cases when officials have not declared their assets, despite that there were false declarations and cases when officials did not declared at all their assets.

This happened despite the fact that Kosovo Criminal Code says that the non-declaration or false declaration is a criminal act.

UNS and DNKiM want an independent TV channel in Serbian

(RTK2)

Through a press statement, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo, Metohija (DNKiM) and the Journalists’ Association of Serbia (UNS) reminded the Serb representatives that Kosovo Assembly will debate at the next session about the Radio Television of Kosovo.

DNKiM and UNS called on Serb MPs to pay special attention to the need for establishing an independent Serb TV channel in Serbian language that would cover the whole Kosovo. Therefore, DNKiM and UNS request from Kosovo Assembly to postpone the debate about RTK until Serb representatives return to the Assembly.

DNKiM and UNS emphasized that Ahtisaari Package and later the Constitution of Kosovo guarantee to the Serb community “an independent TV channel in Serbian language which would cover the whole Kosovo”, whereas according to the press release, the existing TV channel in Serbian, namely RTK2does not represent neithera legalnora functionalfulfillment of thisconstitutional rightandobligationof Kosovo institutionsto theSerb people.

UNS and DNKiM believe that the independent channel in Serbian language must have its own Board, which appoints the Director, with headquarters based in Gracanica/Graçanicë and must have mechanisms that will guarantee financial independency, editorial freedom and program policy.
