In an interview with daily Politika Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said ‘if a resolution on the alleged genocide committed by Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija will be adopted than the further dialogue with Pristina is impossible.’

I think that the idea of a resolution came out of Hashim Thaci’s and other relevant subjects’ fear over the formation of a special court which should deal with the people in Kosovo and Metohija who have committed crimes. If they attempt to adopt anything like that in the Kosovo parliament and miraculously find majority for it, I do not know how they intend to talk to us after that, “said Vucic.

On the journalist’s comment about the consequences if the Serbian government withdraws from the dialogue with the government in Pristina, Vucic said that he asked all international officials, including Federica Mogherini, about such double standards.

“I respect Albania, I have fair relations with Mr. Rama, but I said that if I drew map of Greater Serbia on the wall of my father’s house, that would be a big story on CNN. Serbia would be denounced. When it comes to the case of the map of Greater Albania, there was no word of condemnation of what happened in Albania. It speaks to me about double standards,” said Vucic.

Vucic added that “many European officials and some ambassadors do not have an answer to this.”

“They say you’re right. All one can do is to smile. It is an indicator of how much more we need to work in order to have enough strength to improve the position of Serbia,” concluded the Prime Minister Vucic.

Commenting on the journalist’s remark that ‘it seems that nothing the government does related to the reforms is enough, while the only important thing is the Brussels Agreement, with the pressure to implement it directed only to Belgrade,’ Vucic said that “he never asked European officials for anything more than that what Serbia deserves.”

You know I do not like to complain, I never cried on the shoulder of European officials seeking for Serbia something more than what it deserved. It is true, however, that most of the pressure in relation to dialogue with the Albanians goes to our side. The future is important and worth the effort of each of us, but that does not mean that we cannot see and often feel the bias of individual European countries, “said Vucic.

Speaking on joining the European Union, Vucic said that the opening of negotiating chapters depends on its European partners and that Serbia for its part did everything that it could.

“All that was in our hands- starting with the dialogue with the Albanians to the successful completion of the screenings, with all the economic and political reforms that have attracted support from Brussels – we have done. Brussels should decide whether it wants Serbia in Europe. Mogherini’s words in Belgrade were encouraging,” said Vucic.
