The paper reports on its front page that the government of Kosovo is conditioning the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities with the full dissolution of Serb parallel structures in Kosovo. The paper has learned that the process of interviewing Serbs, some of whom have served in the parallel structures for 15 years, will start on Monday. The aim is to verify their professional skills before assigning them to different positions in Kosovo institutions.

EULEX starts 42 investigations illegally (Zeri)

The European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) prosecutors have started 42 investigations, contrary to its new mandate, which doesn’t give it the right to start new cases, Zeri reports. Sources within the Special Prosecution (SPRK) told the paper that EULEX prosecutors claimed they did not know that they had no right to undertake new investigations. “The Special Prosecution has already agreed with EULEX to take over these cases, although the process is going very slowly,” said the source. Sevdije Morina, the head of SPRK, said that the SPRK is looking to find the best solution for these cases.

On the National Day of Missing Persons, Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa wrote on his Facebook page that Serbia should be held accountable for the disappearance of the people in Kosovo and the “monstrous crimes its military and paramilitary forces committed in Kosovo.” He said the government of Kosovo will use all available international mechanisms to determine the fate of the missing persons and to bring perpetrators to justice.

Mayor of Gjilan/Gnjilane and senior official of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lutfi Haziri called on the authorities in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to stop repressing the Albanian population living along the border strip between Kosovo and FYROM. “You will regret this tomorrow,” warned Haziri on a Facebook post.

Incidents continue in northern Kosovo (Zeri)

The paper writes that over the weekend, in Mitrovica and in the municipalities of the region there were a series of incidents, where one person was shot with a firearm, while another person was hit by a car and there was a case of attempted robbery in Leposavic.
