As of June 1, northern Kosovo could be left without medicines, following a decision of the Kosovo Ministry of Health and Customs that sale of medicines and other medicaments produced in Serbia won’t be allowed in pharmacies in northern Kosovo as of that date.

Owners of pharmacies are due to have Kosovo licenses, what is actually impossible, since Kosovo is not recognizing university diplomas from Serbia.

In the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija say that Serbian side has fulfilled all that was required. They reminded that Pristina did not respond on the EU request with regard to licensing, thus there can’t be discussion about any changes as of June 1.  This deadline could only be valid if all issues related to this matter are settled in Brussels. “As of 1 June private pharmacies will be supplied in the so far manner,” communicated the Office.
