The director of the B92 Fond Veran Matić, stated that commission that should shed the light on  destiny of missing Serbian journalists should be formed in Kosovo too, like in case of Slavko Curuvija and others in Serbia proper.

Matic said that he will talk with representatives of the Kosovo government about a possibility for the creation of a commission that would deal with the fate of Serbian journalists, who went missing during the Kosovo conflict. “It seems to me that this is a huge taboo here, but it has to take place and here, because that is the only way to prove the democracy of the government,” said Matic to RTK2.

Matic further said that he accepted the call from the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić to assist in the case of Bytyqi brothers, but under certain conditions – that prosecutors are replaced, that a team is created, which would cooperate with the American investigation agencies that are carrying out a parallel investigation and cooperate with Bytyqi family’s legal team.

“It is very important that all who are mentioned in relation to this case, that is, high ranked officials at the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of Serbia are totally distanced, in order that they can’t influence on witnesses,” said Matic and added that this is very important case, not only for the sake of cooperation of with the US, but for the sake of ourselves, too.
