General John Allen watches closely measures against terrorist organizations

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

General John Allen, the US Special Envoy to the Global Coalition Against the Islamic State, visited Kosovo to closely watch the measures that Kosovo has taken on the fight against terrorist organizations.

He got the pledge of President Atifete Jahjaga that Kosovo will continue to be committed in implementation of recommendations that come out of the Global Coalition Against the Islamic State, to prevent its citizens to join this Organization.

General Allen also met with Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, his deputy Hashim Thaçi, and the interior minister Skender Hyseni.

Law for regulation of online media requested

(KTV)

It has been a while since different political representatives are requesting a law for regulation of online media. The need for self-regulation of this field comes due to numerous problems, starting from the disrespect of copyrights and up to professional standards.

The international expert for media regulation, Adeline Hulin, says that legal regulation should be avoided.

Journalist Artan Mustafa says that media should be self-regulated starting from the protection of professional principles. The main problem, along many other problems in the field of online media, is also the disrespect of copyrights.

The big number of electronic media in Kosovo has created a market which is not all that stable.

Powerful media are constantly damaged from news stealing by different portals, which do not respect copyrights.

So far, only Press Council of Kosovo has dealt with online media and their cases.

Parliamentary questions go unanswered

(KTV)

Although they have the responsibility to report to MPs, government officials were not present even in Thursday’s session to respond to the parliamentary questions.

This practice was criticized by MPs, who have accumulated questions for the Prime Minister and his subordinates.

Different from his colleagues, MP Zafir Berisha said that he will use other forms to make his question to the Prime Minister.

This is not the first time that parliamentary questions have gone unanswered due to their non-participation in sessions.

Reports of monitoring organizations of the Assembly have frequently addressed these remarks.

Only during the first months of this year, not even 40 per cent of parliamentary questions got answers from these officials.

Djuric: Prishtinë/Pristina does encourage the return of IDPs

(RTK2)

During a roundtable discussion organized in Belgrade, the Director of Serbian Government Office for Kosovo, Marko Djuric, said that Prishtinë/Pristina does not encourage return of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Djuric expressed his hope that better conditions for return will be created with resumption of Serb judges’ work, and return of the usurped and destroyed property to Serbs.

Prosecution not investigating politicians that are quickly growing rich

(KTV)

Declaration of assets by public officials continues to be followed with many deficiencies. Many questions have been raised, above all why the exact origin of the quick growing rich of politicians and public officials is never known.

In this regard, Prosecution has never carried out any investigation about Kosovo officials that are quickly growing rich.

“Çohu” organization considers that Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency rather performs administrative work than it monitors officials that are paid by citizens’ taxes.

Kohavision asked the State Prosecution if it has grounds to investigate enormous increase of state officials’ assets, but it did not receive a response for two consecutive days.

The justification of Prosecution media officers was that Chief Prosecutor and others are not in Kosovo.

On the other hand, FOL Movement considers that investigations should also be carried out for the period prior to 2000.
