Kosovo Serbs preparing special strategy for Serbian investments

Kosovo Serbs are preparing a special strategy for investments in areas they live in, Kosovo minister of local government administration Ljubomir Maric announced.

According to him, this platform will soon be presented to investors from Serbia to ensure sustainable development in ten municipalities with Serb majority population in Kosovo.

Maric told Serbian media that these investment funds will be allocated in the Association of Serb Municipalities. Maric also said that with this platform investors from Serbia will have a real picture about the potential of Serbs in Kosovo.

According to Kosovo government minister, improvement of economic situation in Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo is extremely important as it will increase Serbia’s influence in these areas. However, according to Maric, Belgrade has said that investments of businesses from Serbia can also be orientated toward area with Serb and Albanian mixed population.

Ibrahimi: Internationals say one thing and do something else

If the Specialized Chamber within the Special Prosecution of Kosovo would have been established, the need for establishment of Special Court wouldn’t have existed, stated the Head of Prishtinë/Pristina Basic Court Hamdi Ibrahimi.

According to Ibrahimi, Special Court’s establishment will not solve issues related to combating of crime within Kosovo.

In an interview with TV21, Ibrahimi spoke about non-inclusion of Specialized Chamber’s crimes in the bill on courts, while he considers that when it comes to Kosovo judiciary internationals say one thing and do something else.

Many complaints addressed against judges and prosecutors

They are in charge of making justice, but there are cases when judges and prosecutors also make violations. Furthermore, due to this, some of them are facing justice regarding the complaints that citizens are filing at the Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office.

Only during the first months of 2015, 165 such complaints have been addressed to this body. While during the whole 2014, over 550 complaints reached the Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office.

On the other hand, Kosovo Judicial Council officials told Klan Kosova that they have received 15 final cases from the Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office for 2014, while they have received 12 reports for the first trimester of 2015. Following these reports, KJC suspended a judge and one other was dismissed.

Despite Klan Kosova’s request, Kosovo Prosecutorial Council did not respond about the measures taken against prosecutors following recommendations made by the Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office.

The Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office officials said that there are cases when judges and prosecutors purposely make violations.

Agani: We will fight extremism

Party of Justice (PD) chairperson, Ferid Agani, said that this party will never allow extremists to divide them.

“We will fight jointly any kind of extremism, in order for peace and stability to rule in the country, by eliminating misunderstandings and misuses of our identity,” said Agani in his introductory speech at this party’s Convention.

The minister of environment and spatial planning and PD chairperson, Ferid Agani, was re-elected as the leader of this party for another term.

LDK to hold its Second Convention

Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) chairperson, Isa Mustafa, said after conclusion of the internal election process LDK will hold its Second Convention on programmatic orientation for the upcoming four years as the centre-right party.

“LDK will also propose some amendments of the LDK Statute at this Convention related to organization of branches abroad and the age of LDK Youth Forum members,” Mustafa wrote in his Facebook account.
