Kotevski: We possess information about revenging actions for Kumanovo (RTKlive)

Officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), have received an alarm for possible attacks and kidnappings of police officials.

Referring to the operational information, the news that groups related to that of Kumanovo, plan revenge actions and kidnappings, in order to exchange them with some of the prisoners, has been reported in several media. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) informed that the police are monitoring the situation and it is undertaking all the preventive measures. “We have operational information based on which we have sent the telegram. We continue to scrutinize all the information and prepare for all eventual challenges. Within this context, instructions to use equipment and official vehicles in order to secure individuals and buildings which are the responsibly of the MIA, as well as to patrol the northern border, are given,” said Kotevski.

According to unofficial information, MIA units and sectors have engaged during the last days reserve police and told them to be ready to take over regular police competencies throughout the cities, if they are reassigned to some other place.

Asked by news agency Meta, if these activities are part of the preventive measures, Kotevski did not give a concrete response which would confirm or deny the news.
