Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic thanked President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for the support his country gives to Serbia’s territorial sovereignty and integrity.
The Parliament Speaker also thanked Belarus for not recognizing the independence of Kosovo, unilaterally proclaimed by ethnic Albanians in Serbia’s southern province in February 2008, and for the support of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
Gojkovic and Lukashenko agreed Tuesday it is important to boost economic cooperation and increase the level of trade between the two countries, the Serbian parliament issued in a statement.
The officials opined that Gojkovic’s visit, first at the level of parliament speakers in 15 years, will open a new stage of development in the relations between the two parliaments and countries.
