In case Pristina do not agree to the proposed text on the Community / Association of the Serb municipalities (ZSO), on the next round of Brussels talks, the representatives of the Serbs in Kosovo institutions could consider the option of “freezing” participation in the Assembly and Government.

Minister of Local Government Administration Ljubomir Maric said that such a move would be logical, because representatives of the Serbian List will not participate in the Government which doesn’t want to form ZSO (which was the main reason for joining the Kosovo government). However, so far, such move was not discussed: “The talks on the establishment of the ZSO are on-going and we will see how they will be finished. As so far, the decision on further steps will be brought in consultations with the government in Belgrade. But everybody is clear that the existence of the coalition depends on the establishment of the ZSO.”

The main point of dispute at the last round of talks was whether the representatives of ZSO will have the status of government officials or not. Maricx stated that the agreement on this point is possible.
