The government of Kosovo approved during today’s regular meeting the report of the government commission for demarcation of the borderline with Montenegro. In this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said that this border is in accordance with the one of 1974 and Ahtisaari’s package.
Thaci said that not a single square meter of Kosovo is being touched with this demarcation. Head of the Commission for Demarcation and Maintenance of the Border Points, Murat Meha, said that what is happening right now is only the marking of the administrative border line with Montenegro.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, also spoke about this issue stressing that this border line does not affect the Kosovo territory and that the Municipality of Peja remains untouched with the marking of this border line. The report on the demarcation of the border line was endorsed unanimously.
The government further proposed for this agreement to be signed by President Atifete Jahjaga, within the legally set deadline for the international agreements.
