Stojanovic demands explanations about Molliqaj’s statements (RTK2&KTV)

Everything, but the war, to impede establishment of the Association of Serb Municipalities stated the Vetëvendosje Movement Secretary Dardan Molliqaj to KTV Interactive show on Tuesday. Molliqaj said that they will not choose means, including the most radical ones, to impede ‘Bosnization’ of Kosovo.

These statements provoked the reaction of Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic. In a press statement, Stojanovic said that competent institutions should verify what the matter is.

“I call on all competent institutions to ask Molliqaj and verify what he means when he says that only war will be missing? Does he plan a new 17 March? I call on KFOR and all security structures to seriously understand these threats and undertake everything necessary to prevent attacks and violence against anyone in Kosovo, including Serbs, which are the most exposed to targeting,” Stojanovic said.

“It is an obligation of competent institutions to confirm the seriousness of threats made. People’s safety and unimpeded work of institutions must be guaranteed. What is more important, the rights of others cannot be violated, a thing that Molliqaj announces in his statement that ‘Nothing in Kosovo will function,” DPM Stojanovic concluded.

Headquarters of Special Court, which has already received the votes of Kosovo Assembly MPs, still is not clear, Kosovo Minister of Justice Hajredin Kuçi stated.

He made these comments during the promotion of first bench book for judges of civil and criminal field. It was said that these bench books will provide a greater support to the community of judges in implementing judiciary and procedural practices.

Minister Kuçi also said that integration of judges from the northern Kosovo in justice system should be done as soon as possible, Klan Kosova reported.

The Kosovo Judicial Council Chairperson, Enver Peci, said that this bench book will serve to take decisions on certain cases. According to him, the judiciary of a year ago has undergone a substantial reform and that it needs a greater political will.

KTV reported that new and experienced judges will benefit from the bench books on how to deal with routine matters, or handling more complex issues.

Selimi: Kosovo is joining UNESCO (All monitored broadcasters, Klan Kosova)

Deputy Foreign Minister Petrit Selimi refuted the claims of Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic that the United Nations has refused Kosovo’s application for accession to UNESCO. He told Radio Free Europe that such statements are utterly inaccurate.

Selimi said that the Executive Committee of UNESCO is expected to give a positive recommendation about Kosovo’s accession to UNESCO in October.

“The UN has not refused Kosovo’s application as Kosovo has not submitted it to the UN. The UN has refused to be a facilitator of the communication between Paris and Prishtinë/Pristina, which has opened new doors to direct communication between Kosovo and UNESCO. There is no doubt that UNESCO Executive Committee will consider Kosovo’s application in October,” Selimi said.
