President Obama invites PM Mustafa to the Leaders’ Summit

Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, has been invited by the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, to partake in the summit of leaders which will be held in New York on 29 September.

The summit will be held at the UN headquarter while the leaders will discuss the achievements in combating ISIS and violent extremism.

The invitation has been delivered to PM Mustafa several days ago by the U.S Embassy in Prishtinë/Pristina, reads a press release issued by the PM’s Office.

TV stations reported that President Obama invited also the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to the summit.

Tahiri announces reciprocity measures against Serbia

Despite the fact the Serbia is not implementing the Agreement on free movement; officials of Kosovo government are convinced that this situation will change.

Kosovo minister for dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said that Kosovo is determined to fully implement agreements reached with Serbia. However, if Serbia disrespects the agreements, Tahiri underlines that Kosovo will act the same, too.

For the lack of the implementation of the agreement on free movement by Serbia, minister Tahiri says that they have requested another meeting in Brussels.

Also, Maja Kocijancic, the spokesperson of EU High Representative Federica Mogherini stated that both, Kosovo and Serbia cannot disregard the Agreement on free movement.

Djuric: Association has executive competencies

Director of Serbia’s Office for Kosovo, Marko Djuric, insists that the Association of Serb Municipalities has executive competencies. He suggested that, in relation to this issue, to review the document that has been harmonized by Prishtinë/Pristina and Belgrade.

He reiterated that the establishment of the Association would enable to Serbs to administer their works, ensures perspective, protects them from majoritarity in institutions, assimilation etc.

Djuric said that he expects that Belgrade would be allowed funding opportunities to the Association.

Prosecutor of serious crimes arrested

Vahide Badiviuku, serious crimes prosecutor at the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, has been arrested on Sunday morning hours. Badivuku was arrested by the Special Prosecution of Kosovo on suspicion of abuse of office and organized crime. Two other individuals, whose identity has not been disclosed, have been arrested together with the prosecutor.

State Prosecution, through a press release, informed that the arrests were done following investigations carried out by a local prosecutor of the Special Prosecution of Kosovo.

Badivuku is suspected to have received bribe to release several confiscated vehicles of a case she was investigating.  According to the Prosecution, Badivuku through her brokers requested 22,000 Euros bribe to release the vehicles. Following the acceptance of the bribe, Badivuku, as the prosecutor of the case, drafted the request to release the confiscated vehicles.

She was arrested in Merdare border- crossing while 5,000 Euros, suspected to be part of the 22,000 Euros bribe, were found in her purse. However, Police could not arrest the third broker.

KTV learned, from source within the prosecution, that the order for the arrest was issued by Admir Shala, prosecutor in Special Prosecution of Kosovo.
