Serbia is committed to the policy which will bring stability to the Western Balkans, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said in the talks with Head of the EU Delegation in Serbia Michael Davenport on Monday.
Vucic and Davenport discussed the Tuesday continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue in Brussels, the situation in the region and migrant tide, the Serbian government Office for cooperation with the media released.
Vucic said that the Serbian government considers it important for an agreement on the community of Serb municipalities to be achieved as part of the Brussels agreement, as well as other important matters with exclusive respect for Serbia’s national interests.
Speaking about the situation in the region, Vucic reiterated the commitment to the policy which would bring stability in the Western Balkans, and announced that his participation at the Vienna Conference on August 27 would be marked by this attitude.
The two officials also discussed the situation concerning the increased inflow of illegal migrants and the common problem of Serbia and the EU.
Ambassador Davenport said that the EU is impressed by the organisation of reception of illegal migrants by the Serbian government, and Vucic expressed gratitude to the EU for assistance in the organisation of their reception and the EUR 390,000 worth of financial assistance which has so far arrived from the Union.
Vucic and Davenport also reviewed the possibilities for the EU to provide assistance to the future migrant reception centre in Belgrade.
