Political analyst Dusan Janjic commented the new round of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which is to be held today in Brussels, and said that there is a possibility for reaching a compromise and that problem could be settled.

Janjić said to TV Pink that there is a room for reaching a temporary solution when it comes to Association/Community of Serb municipalities (A/CSM) and disagreements over its competencies, status of employees and their financing, since Serbian side insists that certain executive competencies are needed for the A/CSM.

Janjić stressed that Serbs are gaining a lot with the A/CSM, but added that this is not sufficient and that cultural and personal autonomy of the A/CSM, guarantees for the Serbian Orthodox Church and heritage should be discussed in the next phase, whereas the property issue should be the major topic.

He went on to say that if the agreement on A/CSM is signed today in Brussels, the process of its implementation will start and we could discuss early next year about what has been delivered to the people, and further said that Serbia has to, and can, achieve that Serbs in Kosovo have what Albanians have in Serbia.

“We need institutions of the Serbian National Council that would have competencies to set up and manage media and national institutions,” said Janjić.
