Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that Serbia is in permanent contact with EU member states that didn’t recognize Kosovo, and that “we are aware of the pressure they are exposed to, but we expect their stand to remain unchanged”.

After the offensive on UNESCO aiming at providing a seat for Pristina in it, Kosovo Albanians have targeted five EU states that didn’t recognize Kosovo with the goal of doing so.

“Serbia is doing everything that number of states that recognize illegally declared independence of Serbian southern province is not growing,” said Dacic.

Kosovo Deputy Foreign Minister Petrit Selimi said earlier that important steps have been made toward the recognition of Kosovo by the five EU member states which didn’t recognize it so far.

In the embassies of Greece, Romania, Spain, Slovakia and Cyprus, which didn’t recognize independent Kosovo, say that their stand will remain unchanged. In the embassy of Cyprus they said: “Stand of Cyprus, which is not recognizing Kosovo, remains firm. In our opinion that issue could only be reviewed if mutually acceptable solution and agreement is reached, on the basis of the UNSC Resolution 1244”.
