The health condition of Citizens’ Initiative SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic, whose trial is ongoing at the court in Mitrovica under war crime charges, is somewhat better on Wednesday than in the previous days, doctors of the North Mitrovica hospital stated.
The doctors said at a press conference that they will do everything possible to ensure that Ivanovic is ready for the continuation of the trial on September 10.
The chairperson of the medical team Milan Jakovljevic said that Ivanovic has started to recover slowly. “The recovery is not as fast as we thought it would be. He is feeble, with frequent psychogenic crises, too nervous and sometimes he has chest pain, which is alleviated with medicines,” Jakovljevic said.
Ivanovic went on a hunger strike on August 7 requesting to be released pending verdict. He ended hunger strike 15 days later after his health deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital.
