Opposition calls on PM Mustafa to annul Brussels agreements and resign

The three opposition parties, Vetëvendosje, AAK and Nisma për Kosovën, have decided to create a joint front to oppose, as they qualify them, bad policies of Isa Mustafa’s Government.

Visar Ymeri, Ramush Haradinaj and Fatmir Limaj called on Prime Minister Mustafa to annul the agreements with Serbia and resign in order to open way to extraordinary elections.

The three opposition parties decided on Wednesday to continue as joint opposition and agreed that their further steps will include civic petitions, actions, protests, and nation-wide protests until the Government will be brought down and extraordinary elections are called.

Veseli: Government not obliged to bring Brussels agreements for ratification

Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli said that Government is not obliged to bring agreements reached in Brussels for ratification at the Assembly.

In an interview with TV21, Veseli denied that the Assembly is being excluded. He called on political parties of the opposition to debate at the Assembly and not in the street. Veseli said that the latter does not serve Kosovo’s interests.

Shala: VLAN broke down because US did not want Vetëvendosje in power

LDK ultimately left VLAN following recommendations of Kosovo President taken from Washington that foresaw omission of Vetëvendosje Movement, which was led by Albin Kurti, from Government.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Kujtim Shala, who was one of the VLAN proponents, told KTV Rubicon show all the backgrounds to the processes regarding the VLAN Bloc, through to the agreement between the two big political opponents – LDK and PDK.

Shala said that he truly saw possibilities of true cooperation with Vetëvendosje, but, according to him, everything stumbled over due to the fact that internationals did not want Vetëvendosje in power.

Government approves strategy against radicalisation and violent extremism

Government of Kosovo approved the strategy on prevention of violent extremism and radicalisation.

It was stated that Kosovo will be part of the Alliance Against Extremism. The need for sooner membership of Kosovo in Europol and Interpol was also discussed.

Draft law on the Assembly discussed

Draft law on the Assembly of Kosovo was topic of discussion at the roundtable organized by the Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli.

It was said that discussions with international partners and civil society organizations will contribute to the best drafting of this law.

Speaker Veseli emphasised that the Law on the Assembly is basic and it has many budgetary implications.

Citizens have lost their trust on justice

Kosovo citizens have lost their trust on justice. This was also stated by the Minister of Justice Hajredin Kuçi. However, leaders of justice institutions promised that they will work to increase citizens’ willingness and trust for justice.

Kosovo Chief State Prosecutor Aleksandër Lumezi also expressed his optimism about improvement of justice system.

As far as improvement of justice system is concerned, Kosovo also got the pledge for support by the Head of EULEX Mission Gabrielle Meucci and the Head of EU Office in Kosovo Samuel Zbogar.

Representatives of Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) said that they will increase capacities of institutions in order to foster their independence in the justice system.

Three persons arrested for stabbing a Klokot/Kllokot Serb

(RTK2)

Kosovo Police arrested three Kosovo Albanians, who are suspected of assault against Milos Stevic in Klokot/Kllokot, the Gjilan/Gnjilane regional police spokesperson Ismet Hashani confirmed to RTK2.

Two of them, adults, were put under 48-hour detention, while the third, a minor, was put under 24-hour detention.
