President of the Regulatory Authority of Electronic and Postal Communications in Kosovo Ekrem Hoxha said today that from Serbia has not arrived any request for a third mobile operator in Kosovo as agreed by the Agreement on telecommunications between Pristina and Belgrade. Deadline for submitting request, under the Agreement, is November 15 while the obligation of the Regulatory Authority was, until January 15, to give licence to operate in Kosovo, Hoxha said.

In the agreement on telecommunications was written that a license will be granted to the new operator on the same day when Kosovo gets an international dialling code, reminds agency.

According to Hoxha, the license will be temporary and will not expire before 1 March 2017 and the operation of mobile telephony will be limited to the existing infrastructure on the ground, in the northern part of Kosovo.

The agreement on telecommunications says that “Kosovo authorities will grant a temporary licence to a new company, according to the legislation of Kosovo for existing operations with the use of existing infrastructure on the ground.”

An operator will get full licence if it wins the tender that will be organized in line with EU standards, said Hoxha.
