Serb-Albanian story has a positive echo in Brussels, and it is the right momentum for the full normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, said Pristina’s coordinator in the dialogue with Belgrade Blreim Shala.

He also believes that process of normalization is irreversible and that it has to proceed forwards, however, he added that there is still not that much time at disposal for that process. He went on to say that if the process is not carried out as it should be, he suspects that “we won’t become EU members, neither Serbia before nor Kosovo later”.

Shala elaborated that there is still a lot to be done until full normalization of relations, what for Albanians means “mutual recognition between two states”. “Normalization implies that Kosovo and Serbia dramatically change relations which were extremely bad throughout the history, in order that we live like good neighbors. It implies also that Kosovo Serbs enjoy all rights, and that Serbia also has the right, in line with the Constitution of Kosovo and agreements, to care about them in in all possible ways,” said Shala, and added that normalization implies that “we support each other in the process of European integrations”.

According to him 2016 will be important year because, as we could hear it frequently from Berlin, it is expected that mutually binding agreement would be signed between Belgrade and Pristina.
