Bringing the status issue of the self-proclaimed independent Kosovo to the negotiating table, instead of the normalization of relations with Pristina, is unacceptable for Belgrade, Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said today, adding that the government would be clear about this with the EU.

An attempt is underway to tie the matter of Serbia’s EU integration to the concessions of Belgrade regarding the status of Kosovo and Metohija, Djuric told Radio Beograd. The EU obviously plans to open Chapter 35 on Kosovo, he said, adding that there was still time to amend the negotiating platform which is currently unacceptable for Serbia.
