Opposition parties: Veseli must resign

Opposition MPs requested from the Speaker of Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli to resign, since the latter during Friday’s Assembly session insulted Vetëvendosje MP Albulena Haxhiu. According to opposition MPs, Speaker Veseli‘s statement has insulted all Kosovo mothers. This was stated on Sunday, during a joint conference of opposition parties held in the Assembly of Kosovo.

Opposition representatives also said that the event at the last session of the Assembly were violent and undemocratic.

On the other hand, Glauk Konjfuca of Vetëvendosje said that the presence of police in the Assembly is unacceptable.

They consider Friday’s Assembly session, that was held without the presence of opposition, as illegal.

Moreover, AAK caucus chief Donika Kadaj Bujupi said that after Friday’s events, the Government has no legitimacy.

Opposition MPs reiterated that they will continue to block the work of the Assembly until the signatures are retracted from the Agreement on the Association and the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro.

Whereas, Nisma për Kosovën chairperson, Fatmir Limaj said that the ruling coalition on Friday placed Kosovo into a serious crisis while he stressed that the ruling parties have lost their political legitimacy. Limaj said that the time for protests has come, but without specifying any date.

Survey results: Citizens against Government and opposition

A survey of the Institute for Research and Social Analysis (IRSA) conducted with over 1,000 respondents, shows that over 50 per cent of the respondents believe that the current Government should not continue its mandate until the end while 58 per cent of the respondents said that the opposition is not a solution. Over 71 per cent of respondents consider the action of opposition parties as violent.

According to the survey, over 85 per cent of the respondents said that the only hope for Kosovo is the establishment of a new political force.

Two Novo Brdo/Novobërdë Serb minors attacked

Two Serb minors of Kufc i Poshtëm village of Novo Brdo/Novobërdë municipality, have been attacked on Saturday around 17:30hrs. They were attacked by a group of young Albanians from the neighboring village.

One of the Serb minor received minor body injuries and was treated in Gracanica/Graçanicë health center, while the second victim that received serious injuries was treated in Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north hospital.

Both victims of this attack have been released from the hospitals following the medical treatment. The motives of this attack remain unknown.

On the other hand, police arrested two suspected attackers, aged 17 and 16 and put them in 24-hours detention. While, the Public prosecutor overruled the prior decision for the main 16 year-old suspect and following few hours in detention, decided to release him pending investigation, RTK2 reported.

The attack has been condemned by Serb representatives in Kosovo institutions and the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo.

Bus with Orthodox believers stoned in Pejë/Pec

A bus with Belgrade vehicle registration plates that was transporting Belgrade Orthodox believers was stoned on Sunday while leaving the Church in Pejë/Pec center.

No one has been injured while the bus has been damaged. Driver, Zoran Cirica, said that despite the fact that they were escorted by two Kosovo Police cars, police did not react against the attack.

Over 50 passengers had to return to the church until police finished investigations.
