Kosovo’s bid to join UNESCO has “definitively” been included in the agenda for Monday of the General Conference, says Darko Tanaskovic.

However, the Serbian ambassador to UNESCO added there was “still a chance the debate on this item will be postponed for two years.”

Should the vote take place, Tanaskovic “stressed that the outcome remains uncertain,” and reiterated that “Serbia will propose that the debate on the admission of Kosovo be postponed for 2017,” the Beta agency reported on Friday.

“If our proposal receives a simple majority, then a vote on the admission of Kosovo will not happen,” said he.
