Pristina authorities and Eurostat Director Pieter Everaers announced that during the next year in the north a census will be organized in the four municipalities with a predominantly Serbian population. The census will be conducted by the Government of Kosovo in cooperation with municipalities selected by the laws of Kosovo.

Eurostat Director stressed that the census will be conducted in accordance with the Brussels agreement and the European standards in order to finally determine how many residents live in Leposavic/Leposaviq, Zubin Potok, Zvecan/Zveqan and northern Mitrovica.

President of the Leposavic/Leposaviq municipality Dragan Jablanovic says that he heard from the media about the census and that he does not know how and when Pristina intends to do the census.

– Census yes, but not to be implemented by the Albanians; it will be the best that it is done by the foreigners, with our help. From what I hear, it is planned that an organisation from Denmark to do it – highlights Jablanovic.

He thinks that the census is good because Pristina manipulates with the number of Serbs in northern Kosovo.
