House of a priest in the village of Osojane in Istok/Istog municipality in Kosovo was looted during the weekend.

Minister of Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government Dalibor Jevtic told Tanjug that this attack and robbery of the house in Osojane, returnees’ village,  is worrying.

“After my recent visit to Osojane, from the locals, I received a request to open a police substation in Osojane. Officially as Minister I have sent the request to the Ministry of Interior, and to the Director of the Kosovo Police”, said Jevtic.

He called on relevant authorities to shed light on this and all the previous attacks on Serb returnees and their property as quickly as possible.

“I appeal to the Kosovo Police to meet the demands of local residents and to open in Osojane a police substation, as well as to increase the number of police officers and to raise security to a higher level by recruiting Serbs to the ranks of the police”, said Jevtic.

In the village of Osojane there are about 500 Serb returnees.
