Serbia has opened the two initial chapters for European Union membership, entering this way an important phase of the process of European Union integration. EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn, said during the European Union-Serbia accession conference in Brussels on Monday that this is only the beginning of the process. “This is the beginning of the negotiations. We will see during the coming years. I say that Belgrade and Pristina should accept the fact that they do not need to block each-others ways towards EU,” Hahn said.
