The chairperson of the Mitrovica North assembly Ksenija Božović yesterday assessed, at the regular session of that body, that functioning of the municipal assembly was satisfactory considering problems it was faced with.
“In 2015 we managed to maintain continuity of the work of assembly with participation of members of all communities. The assembly is functioning despite all problems. We hope that we will manage to find solutions to certain issues in the next year, hence I am skeptical since we still don’t have a budget for municipal assembly that will be activated in 2016,” said Bozovic, and explained that if the budget for the next year would be the one which was preliminary announced by Pristina, municipality will end up in problems since it would be around the EUR 1,8 million less funds.
At the same session, Mayor of Mitrovica North Goran Rakic said that EU has called a tender for construction of a new municipal seat, and that works are due to start in late February or early March 2016.
