Aleksandar Radic, military analyst said to Blic, that the arrest of armed Wahhabis in front of the Visoki Decani Monastery in Kosovo, shows that ‘we are facing terrorism with motives different from previous Albanian nationalism.”

“It is clear that what happened from 1998, including individual acts resulting in civilian casualties, until the Pogrom in 2004, was executed by Albanians and their main motive was nationalistic, in spite of their different political and religious affiliations. Now we are faced with something completely new, with religious extremism being the motive, and it doesn’t matter if someone is Albanian, Bosniac… These extremists are divided into two types: returnees from the Middle East war zones and Wahhabis. The security services’ task is to identify returnees form the war zones,” said Radic.

“There is a risk, but it is not that high in comparison with certain States in the West. Attacks are possible on Serbian cultural and national symbols, but on civilians as well,” warned Radic.

Four armed Kosovo Albanians were arrested in possession of ammunition on Saturday night in front of the main gate of Visoki Decani Monastery.
