A European Commission (EC) evaluation team will come to Kosovo in March to assess the fulfillment of criteria for visa liberalization. Citing unidentified sources within the government, the news site reports that the EC evaluation team will come to Kosovo on 15 March. The source said the government believes the team’s evaluation will be a positive one and the recommendation for visa liberalization will be made during 2016.

The visit was also confirmed by EU officials. Tove Ernst, EC spokesperson for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, said the European Commission will soon send a team of experts to Pristina with regards to the visa liberalization process. “The mission in Kosovo will be sent to assess the progress made by Kosovo authorities in fulfilling the remaining criteria for visa liberalization. They would then provide guidance for the remaining steps,” said Ernst.
