The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Branimir Stojanović and Language Commissioner Slaviša Mladenović agreed that strong political support is needed in addressing the issue of failure to respect the Law on Languages.
Mladenović held separate meetings with Stojanović and the Director of the Office of Community Affairs for Communities, Ivan Tomić, to whom he presented the draft Strategy for Protection and Promotion of Language Rights proposed by the Working Group and discussed future steps aimed at adoption of the Strategy.
Mladenović and Sojanović also discussed procedure for the adoption of this document by the Kosovo government and agreed on additional steps for the Inter-Ministerial group for communities towards the goal of the government of adopting the draft Strategy at its next session.
