In the framework of the EU funded “Free Movement of Goods in Kosovo” project, the EU Office/EUSR marked World Consumer Rights Day today by organizing a round table to discuss “Consumer rights in practice”. The project’s objective is, among others, to reinforce the protection of Kosovo consumers. The main discussion was about the admission and handling of complaints as well as the cooperation of the relevant institutions on consumer protection.

Libor Chlad from the EU Office said that with the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), Kosovo has committed to adopt the legislation and implement it effectively. “It’s very important to understand consumer rights because they help us understand our mistakes. Also, we expect the SAA will have a positive impact on consumer rights in Kosovo,” he said

World Consumer Rights Day, 15 March, this year is dedicated to removing antibiotics from food, while in Kosovo it is dedicated to food safety.
