The Association of the Journalists of Kosovo protested today in front of the government building, with the motto “Speak up, do not be afraid.”

Dozens of journalists requested an apology from PM Mustafa to the journalist, Vehbi Kajtazi. Head of the Association of Journalists, Zekirja Shabani, condemned the increasing pressure on journalists, saying that attacks by senior government officials are increasing. “Inefficiency of courts has allowed for us to be attacked in our offices. There were 27 cases last year. We have the support of other European federations. We expect the Prime Minister to apologize. We have appealed for him to speak up and not be afraid,” Shabani said.

Vehbi Kajtazi himself on the other hand, requested for the threat to be verified. “I expect the state to act the same as it did in the case of Prime Minister’s son. If we are all equal citizens, I expect justice to fulfill its duty and make the Prime Minister face justice. The Prime Minister did not deny it, I have testified that the Prime Minister called me, insulted me and threatened me. I expect justice to do its job,” Kajtazi said.
