Kosovo Police arrested Vetevendosje member and Albanian citizen, Arber Zaimi today. According to a Vetevendosje movement post on Facebook, he was arrested only for being from Albania. “As it appears, the government of Kosovo is determined to expel every citizen of the Republic of Albania from Kosovo, and is equally as determined to facilitate Serbia’s legal and illegal interventions. Isa Mustafa has on one side opened Kosovo economically and politically towards our enemy for centuries, while it is more than ever expressing tendencies of hostility towards the Republic of Albania.”

According to the post, these actions are completely in line with the Prime Minister’s policies of returning Serbia’s influence to Kosovo.

“This government which arrests opposition, threatens journalists, deports citizens of the Republic of Albania from Kosovo, is unacceptable for the citizens of our Republic. On 26 March, we will massively prove our will to change these policies that are destroying freedom and democracy in Kosovo,” said the post. “We appeal to the Albanian state to get involved in these scandals and to influence Kosovo Government to not undertake such undemocratic and absurd actions.”
