The fire was set at three locations in the village of Crkolez, municipality of Istok/Istog. The Ministry of Returns and Communities has reported that the Savic’s family property, which consisted of 50 acres of forest, was burned.
Minister for Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtic told Tanjug that he is very concerned about the frequent incidents in the municipality of Istok/Istog, and that after the fire in the village of Sinaj, a few days ago, when 1,000 bales of hay were burned, property of the Zuvic family, was set the fire in the Crkolez village last night.
“The locals are rightly fearful and particularly concerned by the fact that we still have not found the previous arsonists, and we wonder if the same group intended to intimidate these people. The Ministry, headed by me, will help residents of Crkolez, who remained resolute after the incident, just as they had been in the much more difficult moments, when they had been under daily pressures and attacks, “he said.
Jevtic strongly condemns the last night’s incident and urges competent authorities to stand in the protection of non-majority people of Kosovo, find and punish the perpetrators.
