The date of Serbian early elections is approaching whereas final decision of the OSCE about the polling stations in Kosovo is still pending.

Representatives of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo have visited Belgrade on Tuesday and consultations have continued in Pristina yesterday, whereas they promised that manner of voting and number of polling stations – as they are called by Belgrade, that is centers for collection of votes – as they are called by Prisitna, will be known soon.

Bojan Klačar from the Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID) says that most important thing is that it is about smaller number of polling stations than before, and that safety of polling stations is in the main focus. He explained that votes won’t be counted at the polling stations, instead they will be counted in Serbia proper, in Raska and Vranje, following the closure of polling centers. According to CeSID there are around 100.000 registered voters in Kosovo, whereas between 30.000 and 40.000 voters will turn out on elections.
