Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric said early on Wednesday that, after more than 18 hours of talks with the representatives of Pristina, agreements had been reached on ID cards, the crossing of trucks, visits of the Serbian officials to Kosovo and the elections.
Underlining the importance of the agreements in the “four fundamental fields” for the Serbs in Kosovo, Djuric told Tanjug that IDs issued by the Serbian authorities can be used in Kosovo freely as had been the case so far, adding that the talks on ID cards would continue.
As for the transport of dangerous goods, the blockade will end on April 25, he said.
When it comes to the April 24 elections, they will be held as in 2014, with the OSCE observers, Djuric said, adding there would be 90 polling stations in Kosovo.
Serbian officials will not be banned from entering Kosovo, Djuric said, adding he would visit the province on Thursday.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija described the negotiations as “lengthy and very difficult”, noting that the agreements were a result of the diplomatic efforts invested over several weeks, in which Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic had also taken part.
“I think we have achieved a good result for our country and our people in KiM,” Djuric concluded.
