What will happen with 487 cases from Kosovo (RTK2)

In the High Prosecutor’s Offices in Vranje, Leskovac and Niš is recorded a total of 487 cases taken from Kosovo, and some of them could be tried before the War Crimes Prosecution of the Republic of Serbia. The cases, most of which are only criminal charges, are currently in the process of review. Soon, should be brought the decision whether and which of them will be further processed, said Milan Petrović, one of the candidates for the head of that Office.

Almost all candidates for War Crimes Prosecutor agreed that it is necessary to improve cooperation with prosecutors in the region and in The Hague, but also with EULEX in Kosovo. In addition, it was recognized that it is necessary to establish an agency for the protection of witnesses at the Prosecutor’s Office for War Crimes.
