Tahiri: Progress reached on consolidation of institutions in the north (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio, engaged in the dialogue with Serbia, Edita Tahiri, said today that progress has been reached in many significant fields of the processes for establishment and consolidation of Kosovo institutions in the north. She said that preparations are being made for round up this process.

Tahiri stressed that as result of the Brussels agreements, the government of Kosovo will establish the unitary justice system in the north, while 23 ministries and central agencies which act on local issues, will start with their activities. Offices of the census and those of the civilian situation will start their work of submitting Kosovo documents to the citizens of the northern municipalities.

She stressed that a basic court will establish in the north and it will cover seven municipalities, according to the Law for basic courts. She said that Brussels dialogue proves to be a significant instrument on helping Kosovo and its people to strengthen state sovereignty at each corner of the country. Tahiri stressed that the role of the European Union, the United States of America and Germany, is determinant on the matter.

She noted that establishment of the Offices for civilian registration in the four northern municipalities is important being that it will soon supply the people of these municipalities with state documents, ID cards, passports, drivers licenses, birth certificates and all other documents.
