The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, expressed conviction that the debate on demarcation expected to be held on 3 August, will unify the government and opposition, which currently hold different positions with regards to the borderline between Kosovo and Montenegro.

He told the media after the meeting with the head of Kosovo’s Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani,  that daily politics should be left aside and that state interests should be a priority.

“The 3 August debate will be a concession for the approval and voting of this matter of interest for Kosovo and Montenegro, no matter party background. This issue should unify the political specter on prioritizing state interests,” Thaçi said.

Asked about the statement of the Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister, Ivica Dačić, that he does not want to have a border with Kosovo, Thaçi recommended to Dačić to read Chapter 35 of the European Union Integration.
