New wiretapped phone calls involving Adem Grabovci made public

(KTV)

Other wiretapped phone calls between the Government executives have been made public by online media. PDK caucus leader, Adem Grabovci, is the protagonist of these phone calls, which, according to Insajderi portal have been recorded in 2011.

In a conversation with an unidentified person Grabovci shows his power to employ people in public institutions. When Ilhami Gashi, who once was Secretary General at the Ministry of Interior, does something for Grabovci, the latter commends him with “Bravo.”

However, Grabovci behaves differently with his former party leader, Hashim Thaçi. On the other hand, Njazi Kryeziu of PDK is heard using vulgar vocabulary.

Later during Monday, Grabovci said he finds publication of these phone calls as a tendency for political eliminations. He did not respond when asked if the voice heard in the phone calls was his.

Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) called on State Prosecution to take all legal actions to investigate and find other evidence regarding the cases mentioned in these wiretapped phone calls.

RTK close to financial collapse

(RTK1&KTV)

Kosovo Assembly Budget Committee has approved the six-month report of Radio and Television of Kosovo (RTK) on spending of public money, which was kept hostage due to lack of quorum in this Committee which resulted with delays in payment of salaries for staff of Kosovo’s public broadcaster.

The Committee also approved the expenditure plan for the third quarter of this year. RTK’s budget for the second semester is 4.8 million Euros, which does not guarantee adequate functioning of the public broadcaster, in particular now at the time of digitalisation and archiving, RTK1 reported in its main news edition.

On the other hand, KTV reported that RTK is a close to financial collapse. Based on the Independent Auditor’s report, Radio and Television of Kosovo has closed 2015 with a debt of 4 million and 631 thousand euros.

According to this TV broadcaster, Board Members have expressed their concern for RTK’s financial situation and management, while RTK unionists are urging the Assembly to intervene.

President Thaçi receives the UN SRSG Tanin

(RTK1)

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received on Monday the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Zahir Tanin.

President Thaçi said that Kosovo is grateful for the role that the United Nations has played in Kosovo after the war and recalled that the process of declaration of independence was launched by the United Nations, based on Resolution 1244, and has been conducted within the United Nations, which has also appointed its Envoy, President Martti Ahtisaari, to lead the process.

“We can no longer go back to the time pre-2008, before the declaration of independence”, President Thaçi said, adding that now is the time for a new quality of cooperation with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and with the United Nations.

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Zahir Tanin, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Kosovo authorities and said that “we should be constructive in seeking cooperation of mutual interest”.

“We are the bridge between Kosovo and the United Nations”, Tanin said.

1244 avoided, a new Resolution on Kosovo is expected at UN

(Klan Kosova)

United States of America and a number of European countries are pushing forward an initiative for a new Resolution on Kosovo at the United Nations Organisation, thus leaving the existing Resolution 1244 aside.

Existence of this new document on Kosovo, which is expected to be put to discussion at the Security Council, was confirmed to Klan Kosova by the Serbian politician Dusan Janjic. Janjis says he got first-hand information for this from the international diplomacy.

“I believe that this new Resolution will officially be presented before the UN General Assembly will convene in September. Among other things, this Resolution is expected to enable holding of Kosovo-Serbia talks directly, without mediators, while EU and US are the main supporters of this document. By doing so an instrument will be developed which shows that both countries have made steps toward their independence and this one of the main reasons for making this Resolution,” Janjic told Klan Kosova in a telephone interview.
