Based on the request of the EULEX prosecutor, the EULEX judge issued today an arrest warrant for Azem Syla, with the justification of alleged attempt to influence one of the protected witnesses.
The order of the Basic Court notes that after Azem Syla’s release from the detention, someone else and not Mr. Syla contacted the protected witness.
“The fact that EULEX did not arrest the person who allegedly contacted the witness is scandalous and it appears intentional, being that they claimed to possess pictures of this meeting with the protected witness,” wrote Azem Syla’s lawyer Tomë Gashi on his Facebook page.
Based on the Court decision, Syla will appear today in front of the Basic Court judge in Pristina.
